After President Obama's address to House Democrats last night, America had an eye opening view of what a hyper-partisan he really is. While Obama promised us all that he would govern to provide us with "hope" and "change", all he delivers is empty left wing rhetoric. Last night, President Obama lectured us about how the "misguided criticisms of his plan echo the failed theories that helped lead us into the current economic crisis-the notion that tax cuts alone will sollve all of our problems." Where are the politics of change and hope? Can't the president take a little criticism? As if his ideas of massive spending are anything new or innnovative. We have all been there before. The New Deal and Great Society are two perfect examples of such orthodox liberal spending programs disguised as "stimulus". The remark that left the worst taste in my mouth was when Presdient Obama spoke of the crticisms that this bill was nothing but a spending bill, and his very smug response was, "of course it is. What did you think stimulus is?" I could just as smugly reply to Obama with this retort: "Of course we know this is a spending bill. Spending is not stimulative, tax cuts are." Obama is not offering anything to the American people except the same old Washington partisan politics. Massive spending is nothing new to this country. Our new president is nothing more than an empty suit.
